Investment stories are easy to believe when they are emotionally attractive

Monitoring should test the original reasoning
After investment, the institution should continue asking whether the thesis still holds. What evidence changed? Which assumptions were wrong? Has the risk profile shifted? Does the allocation still serve its intended purpose?
Monitoring is strongest when the questions were defined before the investment rather than invented after performance changes.
